Membership

The Chamber works to bring increased business to New Braunfels, to create better connections for its members, to make members more visible to potential customers, and to help them work smarter. We strive to stregnthen the local economy, promote the community, provide networking venues and opportunities, represent the interests of our members, and take action.

Economic Development is a major activity, with the Chamber staff responsible for tourism development and primary job recruitment, retention and expansion. The Convention and Visitors Bureau is composed of multiple committees and hundreds of volunteers. The New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (4B) contracts with the Chamber for professional services as does the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corportation founded to lessen the burdens of governemnt. The Chamber, City, and Foundation are represented by the brand Buildnb.com.

Another major area is Community Betterment. Committees in this category include Military Affairs which gives military recognition quarterly and Business-Education Partnership. More and more emphasis is being given to the education area, not only locally but nation wide, as today's students are tomorrow's workforce. The Central Texas Technology Center opened its doors in 2004 for Vocational and Technical training. An entreprenuership center opened in September 2008 that encourages home-grown businesses. The Leadership New Braunfels and Youth Leadership programs and a special division for retirees are well established. The leadership programs are a comprehensive year-long series of educational and training sessions ofr emerging leaders. The Retirees Are Progressive (RAP) division utilizes the expertise of retired individuals in the Chamber program of work.

The Chamber's Public Policy Division committees include Government Affairs, Natural Resources, and Transportation. The Chamber is well known statewide for the Texas Legislative Conference held annually.

Another Division of the Chamber is the Membership Services and Outreach. The Chamber holds a major Business Trade Show, seminars and business advisory sessions. The Chamber sponsors a Small Business Development Center and continues to set new records with a growing number of achievements.
